Processes that bring innovation and environmental impact together can already be found in industry and science. While it is easy to improve the environmental impact of some products, others require systemic approaches in order to guarantee ecological quality in the long term.
Topics
CircuClarity One at glasstec 2024 in Düsseldorf will review empirically proven processes, pioneering products and scalable methodologies tailored for seamless integration. Emphasis lies on authentic, evidence-based strategies, tailored for real-world applicability.
CircuClarity One has a diverse consortium of stakeholders – including material suppliers, floaters, fabricators, engineers, architects and academic experts. The collective mission is to disseminate knowledge and drive progress across the glass and facade industry, fostering a circular economy.

CircuClarity Award 2024
In recognition of innovative contributions to circularity in the glass and facade industry we will be presenting the CircuClarity Award for the first time at glasstec 2024. The award is aimed at representatives from industry and academia and will specifically recognise student contributions.
Entries may be submitted in the following categories
Reuse
Reuse is about bringing new life and purpose to existing materials with the aim of avoiding end of life and adding value to these materials. Used products and materials thereby become part of a new functionality. Documentation must include the process from harvesting the secondary material through testing and reprocessing. Please outline the environmental benefits as well as the technical performance. This category allows for conceptual proposals as well as built examples.
Recycling
Products with significant post-consumer recycled content where the functionality or/and visual quality is comparable to new products. The documentation must include the entire process from harvesting the secondary material, through testing and reprocessing, as well as an outline of additional quality control requirements and potential constraints. Please outline the environmental benefits as well as the technical performance. This category is open to contributions that are fully commercially vetted but also prototype proposals.
Climate Neutrality
Climate neutrality can be achieved in different ways and relevant entries could include climate neutrality both for products or for manufacturing/fabrication locations or even office space. Switching to renewable energy or significantly reducing energy usage by changing manufacturing processes and business operation could be examples for climate neutrality. It could also be a step to significantly cutting energy and emissions. Please document the means to achieve climate neutrality and the environmental impact as well as technical implications.
Smart Process
We invite contributions that demonstrate the use of digital technologies to increase resource efficiency or contribute to circularity. This can be in the context of identifying the location of secondary resources and tracking material through a recovery process, in the fabrication process or in information management systems. Please document the principle and describe the environmental benefits of the process. If a product (i.e. tracking system, database etc.) is available please provide a sample.
Participants
The award is open to contributions by representatives from the glass and facade industry, engineers, architects as well as academics. Student entries will be recognised in a special category and the winner of the student award will receive young talent prize money of EUR 1,500.
Process and timeline
