Glass has become an integral part of modern architecture. With its diverse performance characteristics, it not only fulfills important functions in buildings, it is also important for providing people with daylight in order to stay physically and mentally healthy.

However, these glass surfaces repeatedly pose a great danger to birds, as they do not perceive them as a natural obstacle and often crash into them unchecked. Two properties of glass are fatal to birds: firstly, the reflection, which means that they cannot distinguish the mirror image from reality. And secondly, transparency, when birds try to reach particularly attractive targets behind the glass.

Building with glass should therefore not only be safe for people, but also for other living creatures oder beings.
